At FHS Scandinavia, we often get enquiries about challenges regarding, for example, listeria, salmonella and coli bacteria in production environments. Thus, we have also built up considerable experience in finding solutions that match the individual environments in which they occur.
For example, we have extensive experience in reducing/removing listeria in the fishing industry – experience that we draw on when working with listeria challenges in other industries. And since listeria, unlike other bacteria, thrive at low oxygen levels in, e.g. cold cuts packages, UV-C light can be installed in the packaging area and remove the bacteria from surfaces and equipment, provided that the UVC light is placed correctly. Coli bacteria are found everywhere in nature and are naturally present in the guts of ruminants, and therefore, complete removal of this bacteria is not a realistic scenario. But with a specially developed air ingredient, L.O.G. Four, coli bacteria can be largely reduced, and the finished products achieve a significantly longer shelf-life.
