A dairy uses an LED UVC lock to prevent unclean tools in clean production
External craftsmen/consultants with toolboxes, computers, cardboard boxes or other minor items entered a clean production in a dairy. The craftsmen/consultants were subject to the hygiene regulations of the dairy regarding robes, glasses, shoes, etc., whereas the working tools that were brought along into the clean zone were not decontaminated. This situation posed an increased contamination risk in the clean production zone.
The dairy established an LED UVC lock for tools, computers and similar minor items. After 3 minutes in the lock, the items were disinfected. Both sensitive materials and electronics can withstand the treatment, which is entirely chemical-free and cheap in consumption as well.
The LED UVC lock that was installed at the dairy is a Wisdom DS from LED TAILOR. The lock was thoroughly tested, and documentation proves that, e.g. MRSA and listeria are reduced by a Log4 on the items that are processed in the lock. Consequently, decontamination of tools and computers ensures increased microbiological protection in the clean production zone, which may eventually result in considerable savings on the final product (less waste and fewer recalls).
